fragile clay pots

This poem was written contemplating the correlation between Paul and Gideon after I was given a dream that there is proverb about the two of them. After some research, and connecting the dots, the clay pot correlation between the two of them was shown to me.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

Clay Pots

With such ease does the clay pot break

When our mind is not vigilant and fully awake

To the snake that peddles lies and vicious deceit

So you slumber in misery and feel incomplete

The clay pot is empty and needs to be filled

With the Spirit of God to the rim and then spilled

Over the rim to the world which is dead

So they hear the good news and their hunger is fed

When the Spirit of God is not in the clay

It’s open for evil to enter and stay

Their wicked bands break when you fast and you pray

In the name of Lord Jesus who showed us The Way

These clay vessels are fragile, but can become strong

When filled with the treasure of God that belongs

to His Spirit that gives us power and might

As we sing praises to Yah and give Satan a fight
