wrestle demons

Why does Ephesians 6:12 say “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”?

If Satan can make people rulers and give them kingdoms, like he offered Jesus, and those people who accept the offer(s) are in world leadership roles, why aren’t we wrestling against those flesh and blood Satanists?  These are the people trying to get us to take the mark of the beast and trying to set up the one world government.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Our fleshly body is a vessel our spirit inhabits.  The demonic can influence the flesh, even inhabit the flesh.  We wrestle against the demonic influencing the person, not the person.

Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Power was given to Jesus in the earth and the power of The Holy Spirit was also given to his apostles.  Demons were subject to Jesus and subject to the apostles in Jesus’ name.  The Holy spirit has now been given unto all of us.

In Ephesians 2:2, the we read:  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

We fight against the spirit that is working in the children of disobedience.  This fight can only be fought spiritually.

Satan only has power over those who willingly submit to him.  It is imperative that we pray for our family, friends, and rulers, that they resist the temptation of the evil one and stay strong in The Lord.  The battle between God’s soldiers and Satan’s minions is constant.  Those who accept Satan and his minions are slaves to Satan and they do his work for him.  He’s lazy and arrogant.  Even when they mock you for being a believer, pray for them.  Christ told us to pray for our enemies.  This is what he meant.  It’s the demonic influence reigning over these people that makes them sinful, prideful, and mean.  Love covers all sin.  By practicing spiritual warfare through prayer for our enemies and by loving your enemies, setting the example for them that Christ gave us, love can prevail, the lost can wake up, and the devil will flee from them.

Daily, Christians must put on the whole Armor of God to protect ourselves from the schemes of the devil.  He will try to break you, tear down your stronghold, sucker punch you, and cast doubt in your heart and mind.

Ephesians 6:10

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

So, be strong in Truth, Righteousness, the Gospel of Peace, Faith, Salvation, and The Holy Spirit, which is the Word of God.  Pray always, never ceasing in all circumstances.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Don’t let your spiritual guard down.

1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith.

Matthew 5:28

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
