Jesus 2000 Years

Jesus IS Coming Back

How do I know this?  Well, for one – He told me.  If you have been reading, watching, or following my journey, my walk with the LORD through my videos, blogs, or social media posts, you will recall the dream I had wherein the LORD showed me that it is His Son who is sent to heal and it is His Son, Jesus Christ, who healed me.  There was a part of that dream that I shared with you where the LORD gave me some Psalms to read, so I opened my Bible to them.  On the page, I saw highlighted in pink the words “And He Is Coming Back”.

Second, Scripture tells us that Jesus is coming back.  All Scripture is inspired and is the true Word of God.  His Word will not return void.  It will set out what it has accomplished to do and will finish it.

Revelation 3:11 ESV I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.

Hebrews 9:28 ESV So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

Matthew 16:27 ESV For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done.

1 John 2:28 ESV And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.

Matthew 24:44 ESV Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

One of the things I encounter quite often from the unbelieving world is mocking at the fact that Jesus is returning.  The mockers and scoffers will laugh and say, “It’s been 2000 years.  Where is your Jesus?”

I have quite a few answers for that.  And remember:

Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Firstly, we must realize that the LORD our God is outside of Time.  He created time;  however, He doesn’t live in our realm dictated by time.

Have you ever heard stories of those who claim to have been to heaven?  They may have been deceased for a number of minutes or in surgery for an hour or so, BUT when they return to their present state of being awake and living, they tell marvelous stories of the long time they spent in heaven.  They claim to have been in heaven with Jesus for days, a week… not just minutes or an hour.  Time outside of this dimension on Earth is not equivalent to time in the Heavenly realm.

Moses stated that a day for us is actually a very long time in the heavens.

Psalm 90:4 ESV For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night.

Peter tells us the same thing.

2 Peter 3:8 ESV But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

I want you to also notice what Peter says in the very next verse.

2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

So, your first reason is because God is outside of Time and Time moves differently outside of our Earthly dimension.  Your second reason is that God is patient.  He’s not being slow in returning to fulfill His promises.  He’s patiently waiting, not wanting any to perish, giving all a chance for repentance and for His prodigal sons and daughters to return to Him.

The LORD is a promise keeper!  The LORD is faithful!  He never fails.  He never goes back on a promise.

There are approximately 1800 teachings of Jesus’ return in the Bible.  Over 300 are in the New Testament.  Biblical scholars say that Jesus fulfilled between 300-450 prophecies when He walked this Earth.  The mathematical probability of Jesus fulfilling just 8 of those prophecies is 1 in 100,000,000,000,000,000. Jesus will fulfill more prophecies upon His return.  He is The Truth.

When will He return?  I have my own theory which is three days.  We see many instance of three days in the Bible, including during the crucifixion of Jesus.  But, I am just guessing.  No one knows, but we are to always be ready.

2 Peter 3:10 ESV  But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the heavenly bodies will be burned up and dissolved, and the earth and the works that are done on it will be exposed.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 ESV For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The parable of the 10 virgins reminds us to not sleep and to always be ready for Jesus’ return.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins ESV

25 “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. As the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and slept. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. 11 Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ 12 But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

We do not know the day or the hour, but Jesus did give us signs of His return in Matthew 24.

  • Many will come in my name, saying “I am the Christ”, and they will lead many astray.
  • You will hear of wars and rumor of wars
  • Nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom
  • There will be famines and earthquakes in various places
  • They will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death
  • You will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake
  • Many will fall away and betray on another and hate one another
  • Many false prophets will arise and lead many astray
  • Lawlessness will be increased
  • The love of many will grow cold
  • You will see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)
  • There will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.
  • They days will be cut short for the sake of the elect; otherwise no human being would be saved
  • False christs and false prophets will perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astry, if possible, even the elect.
  • Immediately, after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
  • From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates.
  • For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Again, in Matthew 24 we are warned to always be awake and ready for His return

Matthew 24:45-51

“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?  Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will set him over all his possessions. But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants and eats and drinks with drunkards,  the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know  and will cut him in pieces and put him with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Watch for the signs.  And there are even more signs mentioned throughout Scripture about the return of Jesus.  Be sober.  Be vigilant.  Be awake.  Be ready.  Stay strong in your faith, never slacking.  Stay in prayer.  Praise Him and worship His Holy Name.  Read your daily bread, His Word, your Bible every day.

We many not know the day and the hour of Jesus’ return, but there is one who knows exactly when Jesus will return.

Matthew 24:36 ESV  But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

Why does the Father only know?  The answer – Jesus did something amazing on the cross for us.  AND  You need to know all about a Jewish wedding.

First, let’s look at a couple things about God’s Law.

Matthew 5:32  But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

So, you make your wife commit adultery if you divorce her for reasons other than sexual immorality.

Look what the Lord said in Jeremiah 3:8 regarding Judah:

She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce.

So, the LORD divorced Israel because of her adultery.  Israel was whoring after other gods, worshipping them, which was adultery again the Most High God Yahweh.

Read the plea of the LORD to Israel:

Jeremiah 3:12-13 Go, and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, ‘Return, faithless Israel, declares the Lord.  I will not look on you in anger, for I am merciful, declares the Lord; I will not be angry forever. Only acknowledge your guilt, that you rebelled against the Lord your God

Here, the LORD pleads with faithless  Israel to return to Him.  Think not only being faithful to the LORD in worship, but faithful to marriage.  He is merciful.

Let’s take a look at another passage regarding marriage, from the LORD:

1 Corinthians 7:10-11 To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband (but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband should not divorce his wife.

Remember, you can divorce on grounds of sexual immorality, which Israel committed against Yahweh. The bride should not separate from her husband, but we did.  We separated from God.  She (the bride) needs to be reconciled to her husband.  Isn’t it marvelous that God reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation!

1 Corinthians 5:18 All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;

The Law in Deuteronomy 24 says:

When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. 2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife. 3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; 4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the Lord: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

Read:

Romans 7:1-2 Or do you not know, brothers—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?  For a married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives, but if her husband dies she is released from the law of marriage.

So, God divorced Israel for being unfaithful and worshipping other gods.  She (Israel) needs to be reconciled back to Him, but since she has been unfaithful, it would be an abomination for God to take her (Israel) back – according to God’s own law.  Therefore, God became flesh and dwelt among us and died, freeing Israel from the former marriage, so that He (God) can marry us again, through Christ who reconciles us (Israel, the wife, the bride) back to Himself (God, the husband, the bridegroom).  Wow!!!

Jesus accomplished so much on the cross:

  • reconciling us back to our husband, The LORD (Romans 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.)
  • destroying the works of the devil (1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.)
  • defeating Death (1 Corinthians 15:54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”)
  • providing The Way back to the Father in Heaven since no one had ascended to heaven before Jesus came (John 3:13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.)
  • prevailing to open the Book and loose the seven seals in Revelation (Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.)

…and so much more, much more than we can probably even comprehend, until we all know in full when we meet Him face to face.

Jesus said He is coming back.  Therefore, He is.  It is impossible for God to lie.  He is the Creator and what He speaks IS.

Hebrews 6:18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

In Jewish customs regarding marriage, the prospective bridegroom would travel from His Father’s House (Heaven) to the bride’s home (Earth).  The bridegroom (Jesus Christ) would pay the price for His future bride (dowry price).  Jesus paid the price for His bride on the cross and the Father accepted the payment.  The marriage covenant is now established.  All who believe the gospel of Jesus Christ are betrothed to Him and are set apart from the world.  We are sanctified in Jesus Christ.

The bride and bridegroom would drink from a cup of wine as a symbol of the covenant relationship.  Jesus came and brought the new wine which we are to put into new wineskins (The Holy Spirit indwells in us as we are a new creation in Christ.  2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.)

Then, the bridegroom goes back to His Father’s house, separated from His bride.  Jesus ascended back to the Father after remaining on Earth 40 days after His resurrection.  While the bridegroom is away, the bride is to prepare herself for married life.  Meanwhile, the bridegroom is preparing living accommodations in His Father’s house for He and His bride.  (John 14:1-3 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.)

At the end of the separation period between the bridegroom and bride, the groom comes back to take His bride to live with Him.  The Father tells the son when to go get His bride.  This normally took place at night; however, the bride does not know the exact time of His coming.  The groom also does not know the exact time His Father will tell Him to go get His bride.

Matthew 24:36-38 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,

The groom’s arrival would normally be preceded by a shout.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Revelation 19:6-9 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

The groom arrives with his escorts and takes His bride, along with her bridal party members, back to the Father’s house.

Revelation 19:11-17 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

The bride remains veiled this entire time.  Then, the entire wedding party escorts the bride and groom to the bridal chamber where the consummate the marriage.

Let’s read the ten virgins passage again.

Matthew 25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

The groom announces the consummation to the wedding party, and upon receiving the good news, the wedding party feasts for seven days – except for the bride.  The bride remains hidden in the bridal chamber until the conclusion of the seven days.  Then, the groom brings His bride out from the bridal chamber with her veil removed so that all can look upon His bride and see who she is.

Revelation 21:9-11  Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”  And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.

It is interesting to note that after the seven seals are loosed by Jesus, the seven trumpets begin.

Jesus said no one would know the day or hour of His return, only the Father, but He gave us clues to the season.

Rosh HaShanah, The New Year, is the only Jewish Holiday the occurs on the first of the month and NOT on a full moon.  Instead, it occurs on the NEW moon.  There is a two-day window for the sighting of the new moon.  The new month/new year cannot officially begin until TWO WITNESSES report to the HIGH PRIEST that they have seen the sliver of the new moon.  When these two sightings are confirmed, the priests would blow the shofar to announce the start of Rosh HaShanah, also known as THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS.  While they were waiting for confirmation of the new moon, when anyone asked when the New Year/Feast of Trumpets would begin, the priests would always reply with “no one knows the day or the hour”.  It was a Jewish idiom of that time period.

The trumpets occur after the seven seals are loosed

Matthew 24:29-30  “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Immediately after the tribulation, will Jesus then take His veiled bride to the wedding supper of the Lamb where He hides her away from the bowls of Wrath to come?

1 Thessalonians 5:9  For God hath no appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.

It makes sense that the New Heaven and New Earth would occur on a New Year.  Of course, this is all speculation on my part.

Revelation 21:1-6 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Jesus is coming back for His bride.  Are you ready?
