The LORD is a healer of hearts. He turns stoney hearts to flesh. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
Ezekiel 11:19-20 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Ezekiel 36:25-27 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
The devil is a stealer of hearts. How many Valentine’s Day cards (which is a raunchy, bloody, pagan holiday by the way) do you see with a devil on them? Why do you see hearts and devils together everywhere? Why do we use the term “He stole my heart” or “She stole my heart”.
Remember Alice in Wonderland and the evil Queen of Hearts? It’s always a wicked queen in the stories, too. Do you realize that? And all throughout Scripture we see worship of the goddess, the queen of heaven, semiramis, hathor, ashtoreth, easter (another bloody, pagan holiday).
The evil queen wanted snow white’s heart. In the TV show, Once A Upon A Time, the Evil Queen had a mortuary full of people’s hearts! All those whose heart she had were enslaved to her. Matthew 6:21 reads:
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Don’t be making deals with the Devil, Evil Queens, Rumplestilskin, and demonic entities, for you will be enslaved to them. Just look at the Satanism flaunted in our faces by the music industry. But, then look closer at these “artists” who admittedly have sold their soul for rock and roll and you can see their suffering, their sadness, their depression, their enslavement. They have split personalities, violent episodes, mental breakdowns, depression, they cut themselves, they eat drugs like candy to swallow the pain and you know the saying, “Misery loves company”, so they will entice you to do the same. They are slaves to the system which forces them to push these sick, twisted, promiscuous, occult messages, acting like they are winning, all the while they are dying inside. They are heartless.
Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
We rest when we are sick and need to be healed. Love sick, heart sick.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Only rest in the Lord can save the broken hearted.
Look at the contrast in terms we use in every day speech.
What do we call mean, evil people – They have hearts of stone, cold hearted, heartless, black heart
What do we call godly people – tenderhearted, warm hearted, a big heart, a pure heart.
A black heart is full of sin and absent of light. A pure heart is full of light and innocent – Innocent of violations of God’s laws and commandments.
We are told to guard the heart.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
We must carefully guard our heart so the enemy does not lay hold of it. Think about what guards do. They identify and seize intruders and then bring them to the King. Our thoughts come from the heart.
We talked about that in my last video. We are commanded to take every thought captive into the obedience of Christ.
2 Corinthians 10: 3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Remember in Genesis it said the thoughts of their hearts were wickedness continually?
Genesis 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Jeremiah just said the heart is still deceitful and desperately wicked. That’s why we need a guard on it 24/7. That’s why we have the Holy Spirit. The fallen ones want our hearts.
Think about the ancient rituals performed, and if you haven’t studied it what you might have seen in an Indiana Jones movie. The evil ruler or high priest would reach right into a person’s chest and rip out their beating heart on top of their pyramid or in a ceremony inside a cave as a sacrifice to their god.
So, guys and gals, keep your hearts, your thoughts, focused on the Kingdom, the place where your treasure lies, and you will want for nothing else. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. I will lay up for myself treasures in heaven where the thief does not break in and steal and where rust and the moth do not corrupt. Put a guard on your heart and bring every single thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. If it’s not a Kingdom of God thought, cast it out! Keep your hearts Pure in obedience to Christ.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
