Jesus stood in front of the “Gates of Hell” (The Grotto of Pan) in Caesarea Philippi and declared they would not prevail against His church.
Matthew 16:13-1813 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist*: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Jesus was in Caesarea Philippi. “The Gates of Hell” were in Caesarea Phillipi. The Grotto of Pan, known as “The Gates of Hell”. Jesus stood there with His disciples and declared victory. Peter means rock, but Jesus is The Rock! On Jesus, will the LORD build His Church – and the Gates of Hell will not prevail against it. The Holy Spirit was to come and all authority in Heaven and on Earth was given to Jesus. By His name, authority was given to us to trample serpeants and scorpions over all the enemy and nothing by any means will harm us. They will be ashes under the soles of our feet.
Psalm 24:7-107 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
Jesus let it be known to the kingdom of darkness – they lose. They really, really messed up by initiating and solidifying His crucifixtion.
1 Peter 3:18-2018 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison,20 because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.
2 Peter 2-44 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 5 if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Jude 1:66 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
The angels who are responsible for much of the depravity in the world today. They made pact and came down upon Mount Hermon, where an inscription regarding their pact was recently found. This is most likely where the transfiguration of Jesus occurred. It is the next closest place after Caeseria Phillipi.
Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.
Jesus, our warrior King, was not in Hell long, but long enough to conquer and obtain the Keys to Death and Hell.
Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Hell was not intended for us, but for the angels who sinned; however, it will open its mouth and take you in.
Isaiah 511 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them!12 And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.14 Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.15 And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled:16 But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness.
Jesus freed us from that! Jesus defeated Death by taking on our sins and giving us the choice to pass from Death onto Everlasting Life.
1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin;
There is only one who can forgive sin and save – that’s our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a sacrifice He endured on our behalf! What glory and honor and praises and thanksgiving our Creator deserves! He went to battle for you.

Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Psalm 107:21-22 21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
There is a war going on for you. Whose side are you on: the one that created you and wants to save you, who sacrificed for you and offers everlasting life and gifts for free OR the one that is the prideful creation and/or hybridized from an incursion among mankind, rebellious to the Truth and One True God, whose goal is to watch you never obtain everlasting life and know who you really are, to keep you in chains of bondage to sin, depressed, addicted, with no hope?
