God is the creator

Our Father in heaven is a creator. He is the creator of the heavens and of the earth. He is the creator of man, woman, animals, plants, and trees. He created everything.  God is a creator of not only the physical, but also the spiritual.  In this post, we are going to take a look at God’s creations.

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

1.  Heaven and Earth

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

He is THE CREATOR. The ONLY creator.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Did you know there is a light at the time of conception?

2.  Light

God is the creator of light.

Genesis 1:3-4  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

When he calls us and we answer. 1 Peter 2:9 says that He has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

He calls us out of the darkness.  We all have that moment that the LORD called upon us, whether we never knew him before or whether we had backslidden…  He calls.  And when He calls, you answer.

I remember when He called me.  I had been in and out of church my entire life.  I had studied and read a bit here and there.  I had started reading my Bible cover to cover at the end of 2014 and I finished early 2016.  But, in 2019 something significant happened.  I had taken a big step back and was not the person God wanted me to be.  I didn’t even realize it at the time.  It was like I was so strongly influenced by an evil entity that I didn’t even see what was happening right in front of me.  God was having none of it.  I woke up one day with a song in my head:   “How Great Thou Art”.  It stayed all day and night and I woke up with it again in my head the next morning.  This happened for about 2 weeks straight.  I was not a hymn singer and I didn’t know all the words, but there I was opening my blinds in the morning letting the sun come in to “How Great Thou Art”.  It continued in my mind all throughout the day, no matter what I was doing, over and over, for two weeks straight.  I finally put YouTube on my TV and found a “How Great Thou Art” video and played it.  I sang along as loud as I could to the LORD and fell down on my face in tears, crying, and repenting.  Not only did He pull me out of my comfort zone to do what HE wanted, but He pulled me out of darkness into His marvelous light.  Then, He said, “Follow me and Wayne will follow.”  He had plans for us.

Not only did God create man and woman, but He also creates a new man or new woman in each of us when we are born again by the Holy Spirit into His family.  Let’s take a look at the initial creation in Genesis:

3.  Humans

Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Here we see God created the physical man and woman.  Now, let’s take a look at God creating the new spiritual man and woman, born again.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

(speaking of Saul) 1 Samuel 10:6  And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

God can create you even after you’ve already been created.  That’s our God.

Psalm 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

4.  Stars, Sun, Moon

Genesis 1:16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

And they all give glory and praise to God.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

He created the plants and the trees.  They give us fruit and vegetables to eat, oxygen to breathe, and medicinal properties.

Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

He created the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals on the dry ground, and all the creeping things upon the earth.

5.  Animals

Genesis 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

God is a creator of physical and spiritual things, of all things.  He is the creator of us, the world we live in, and all the things belonging to this world, as well as all beings and things pertaining to the heavens.

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

6.  A Way

He also creates a way.  We don’t call God a way maker for nothing.  He created a way for the righteous to be saved during judgement of the wicked when He appeared to Noah, Abraham, Lot, and Moses.  He created to way to turn evil into good when He sent His son to live among us in the flesh, casting out demons and healing the blind, the sick, the deaf, and the lame.  He created the way for us to be redeemed back to Him when Jesus willingly laid His life down as a sacrifice for our sins, having the authority from our Father in heaven to lay it down and raise it back up again.

Our Father creates for His glory and for good.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
