God Provides. We don’t need to worry about tomorrow or the future. In fact, He tells us not to.
Matthew 6:25-34
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Our eyes are to always be focused on Him. Then, everything we need will be provided to us. There is no need to worry about anything. Our Father in heaven is a good Father. And, like all good Fathers, He provides for His family. You are part of His family. You have been adopted in, bearing the family name, representing a King and a Kingdom, and you have an inheritance coming!
Romans 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
God provided Israel with a way across the sea and with manna in the desert for 40 years. Their clothes and shoes did not even wear out in all of 40 years! The LORD says, what? You think my hand is waxed short? Oh, no, LORD! No! It’s not. Nothing is impossible with you!
God provided Noah with instructions to build the ark. It took 120 years! He waited patiently and saved the righteous.
God provided Adam with a help meet, Eve.
God provided Eve with another son – Seth.
God provided the patriarchs with the Holy Spirit who performed miracles, signs, and wonders – running faster than chariots, raising the dead, stopping the rain, pausing the sun, strength to defeat enemies, and much more.
God provided children to those who thought it was impossible – Leah, Sarah, Hannah, The Shunammite Woman friend of Elisha, Manoah’s wife, Rebekah, Rachel, and Elizabeth.
God provided a way for us to be redeemed back to Him through His son, Jesus Christ.
God fulfills every need.
Philippians 4:19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Our Father in Heaven says that no good thing will be withheld from us.
Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
He didn’t withhold His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, who willingly laid down His life for you.
Whatever we ask in Jesus’ Name, according to His will, believing with faith that we will receive it, it will be done.
Matthew 21:22And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
The LORD says we are His. He marks us. He will write His name upon us.
Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
We are to trust the LORD to be our provider. We are to come to Him with praises of thanksgiving for all He has provided us – health, shelter, food, clothing, His Word, our redemption… He commands it.
Psalm 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.
Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Psalm 107:21- 22 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
We are to be thankful for everything the LORD has given us.
We are not to want. When we concentrate on what we don’t have, we end up doing things our own way to get what “we” want. Instead, we should trust our Father in heaven to give us what we need as He knows what is best for us.
He will always provide, making a way. He is Jehovah Jireh, which means “the LORD will provide”. It is the name memorialized by Abraham when God provided the ram to be sacrificed in place of Isaac. Our Father in heaven is faithful and keeps His promises.
We don’t need to worry about anything. Not tomorrow. Not ten years from now. And young people, not even that the plans you had for your future are different now. You see, those were YOUR plans and not the plans of your Father in heaven. Nothing catches Him by surprise. He knows all. He saw the present coming before you were even born. You were born for such a time as this, to give you the best chance to be saved, to believer, to be born again, and adopted into the family of the Kingdom of Heaven.
The LORD has great and mighty plans for you. We must let go of selfish desires and TRUST our Father in Heaven. We are here to advance the Kingdom of God and be good ambassadors. Not to excel at school or in our careers. Everything is for HIS glory.
Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Love each day. It’s the day the LORD has made. Be glad and rejoice in it! Pray with thanksgiving. Trust and see what the LORD will do in your life.
