Why Did God Send Jesus

We were recently asked, “If God is all powerful and can do anything, then why did He send Jesus?  Why Didn’t He Just Save Us?”  There are numerous reasons for why we needed and still need Jesus.  Tracy Terry elaborates on why God sent His Son.

Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life.  I really want to do is focus on THE WAY.  Many followers of Jesus, people of faith, call themselves “Followers of The Way”.

In the beginning, God created us to be part of His family.  He has a heavenly family and He created us to be His earthly family.  Adam and Eve were created and they were given a choice to either hearken unto the voice of our Father or hearken unto the voice of the enemy.  Eve hearkened unto the voice of the enemy, and Adam did as well.

Genesis 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Adam did this either on his own or out of love for Eve (Once Eve ate the fruit she was in a fallen state.  It’s possible she could no longer see Adam.), but either way, they disobeyed the Father’s house rules.  They were then kicked out of the Father’s house, the Garden of Eden, and there was a curse as a result.  When we obey, there are blessings.  When we disobey, there are curses.

Deuteronomy 11:26-28

26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:

28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

When Jesus came, He showed us The Way.

John 14:5-6

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The way back.  They way to walk.  The way to talk.  The way to love.  The way to act,  The way to open our eyes.  The way to open our ears.  The way to walk in the Spirit.  The way to fight our real spiritual enemies and not each other in the flesh.  The way to hate that things our Father hates.  The way to love the things our Father loves.  He set the example and we are to follow in His footsteps.  That’s why we say we want to be more Christ-like.  Jesus performed miracles and started testimony against the enemy.  He is the gate.  He said no one comes to the Father, but through me.  He also said that no one had ascended yet to the Father.

John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Before Jesus, there was no way to be redeemed back to the Father.  When a person passed away, they went to Sheol.  Paradise was Abraham’s bosom.

Luke 16:19-25

19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;

23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

After Jesus was crucified He led captivity captive and He has the keys to hell and death with Him now.

Psalm 68:18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Death is defeated.  Everlasting life is restored for us, if we believe.  So, again, we see that we have a choice, just like in the Garden of Eden, to hearken unto the voice of our Father or hearken unto the voice of the enemy.  This choice was not just for Jews, but for Gentiles as well.  They are the natural olive tree, whose branches were broken off, but were then grafted back into their own tree.  Gentiles are the wild olive tree that gets grafted into the family tree. We are now co-heirs with Christ to the inheritance through the Spirit of adoption being redeemed back into the family.

Romans 11:13-24

13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Romans 8:14-17

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Our inheritance is living with the very presence of our Father again – in New Jerusalem.  Everything will be restored to the way it was in Eden.

Revelation 22:1-5

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

No sin because the wicked are removed.  Everlasting life.  Living with our Father in His house, again.  It is the sacrifice Jesus made, taking on our sins, that redeems us back to our Father, spotless, blameless, in white robes – if we believe and accept Him into our hearts.

John 10:16-18

16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

John 10:11  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

After Jesus was resurrected, He was seen in His new glorified body, like we will receive.  This is just another example of Him showing us The Way.

In Revelation we see all of God’s people being marked.  Just like there is a mark of the beast, there is a mark of the Holy Spirit.  When Jesus ascended, He prayed the Father to send us the Holy Spirit.  We would not have the Holy Spirit living in our temples, our bodies, if it wasn’t for Jesus.

John 14:15-17

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

When we believe in the gospel and repent, we receive the Holy Spirit and are born again into the Spirit.  Jesus said that no one could enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless they were born of water and of Spirit.  This leads us into the 2nd part of this answer…

Jesus, in Revelation, is the only one can that open the book written within, on the back, and sealed with the seven seals.  John said there was weeping in Heaven because no one in Heaven, on Earth, or under the Earth was worthy to open the book or even look upon it.

Revelation 5:1-7

And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.

And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?

And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.

And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

I don’t know if this book is the deed to Earth.  I don’t know if because of transhumanism and DNA changes that Jesus would be the only human left to be able to open the book and inherit the Earth back and take the deed.  I don’t know if the scene was happening right at the crucifixion, and Jesus prevailed being sinless like Adam was before the fall.  Jesus is referred to as the 2nd Adam.  Adam was told to take dominion over the Earth, but the fall of man, the curse, happened and He lost the inheritance.  Dominion over the Earth was then usurped.  We know that there is a prince of this world. Jesus spoke of him – and it’s not Adam, it’s not you, it’s not me.  You get the picture.  We all know this.  We can only speculate.  But, we do know that Jesus is now our High Priest after the order of Melchisedek, being appointed by the Father.

Hebrews 7:15-17

15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

17 For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Romans 5:14-15

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Ephesians 2:1-2

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

No one in Heaven was able to open the book, except for Jesus (the Lamb), who is says prevailed to be able to open the book and loose the seven seals thereof.  Without Jesus, the book doesn’t get opened… the seals aren’t loosed, trumpets don’t sound, vials don’t get poured out, Babylon is not fallen, the wicked aren’t removed, and New Jerusalem doesn’t come down.  Jesus was absolutely right, 100% Truthful, when He told us that without Him, we can do nothing.

2 Corinthians 5:18-19

18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

John 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
