you're perfect

I Wish – FREE Children’s Story to read your little ones.  This story is about how God made you perfect just the way you are.  Suitable for all ages.

We should never wish that we look liked someone else or could do what someone else does or live where someone else lives or have what someone else has.  Each person is on their own walk with the LORD.  We are each given certain traits, abilities, or possessions as the LORD sees fit to serve His Kingdom.  Someone else’s walk is not our walk.  That is why we are not to covet.  It’s like telling the LORD you aren’t satisfied with what He has assigned to you in this life for His glory and to advance His Kingdom.  The Holy Spirit distributes gifts according to His will.  God knows what He is doing.

I wrote this story on June 11, 2016 thinking about how hard children are on themselves sometimes.  We moved around a lot when I was growing up.  Being the new kid in school was hard.  Sometimes I moved three times in one grade.  I never had best friends or people I knew my whole life.  My cousins were my best friends.  They were the only people I knew my whole life.  I didn’t have a home town.  It was hard.

Children will often see other children at school or at social gatherings and start making comparisons.  They will wish so many different things about themselves.  Did you ever wish you had a different name when you were a kid? I did. I disliked my name.  Maybe you wanted straight hair when yours was curly.  Maybe you wished you could do cartwheels like that one girl in school.  Maybe you wished you had more brothers and sisters.  Maybe you wished you had more toys.  Maybe you wished you were smarter and got better grades.  Maybe you wished your family could afford designer brand clothes instead of hand-me-downs.  Maybe you wished you didn’t have to wear glasses.  Boys may have wished to be more muscular, taller, or have more facial hair.  The list could go on and on and on.  Children do this comparing all the time and they shouldn’t.  They shouldn’t because God made them perfect just the way they are.  Each one of us is fearfully and wonderfully made!

Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
